About the Author

Diann Jones, MBA, Parent/Advocate, has deep roots in advocacy in the disability community as a parent, photo of Diann Jonesadvocate, professional and positive change agent. She does not charge for calls or conferences with fellow parents and extended extended families of children and/or adults with disabilities. By taking this approach in assisting other families, she makes certain that anyone who may need her services can take advantage of her experience — regardless of their financial status or situation.

Her mission is clear: To help others navigate the complex maze of obtaining resources, understand government benefit eligibility and implement a plan that will accommodate the current and future needs of their loved one with a disability.

A Delaware native originally from Hockessin, Diann currently resides in Middletown with her family. She and her husband, Brian, were married in 2006 near St. Louis — close to his large family and hometown. Brian is a project engineer for a heavy civil construction company in Maryland. As a family, they enjoy cooking together, sporting events, movies, traveling and church activities.

Diann is the proud parent of an adult daughter, Nicole Ann, who attained the rank of a black belt candidate in Tang Soo Do karate while in middle school and began building self-advocacy skills of her own. Nicole is currently working and taking a break from attending college to study criminal justice.

Diann and Brian are also very proud of their two younger daughters, Brianne Grace and Alexandra Faith, born in 2008 and 2010, respectively. The newest additions to their family promise to keep them all very active and young at heart.
